Digital Enhancements = Before and After Images

This maternity image on the Coronado Beach in California and the famous Hotel is in the background. The composition could benefit from more background to our left of the mother-to-be.I love working with the different digital art tools to enhance images and take them beyond what was first captured. Our daughter Julie is taking images of friends in San Diego and sends Mom some of her images to review and tinker with. There is no question that the beach at Coronado, California provides an awesome setting for photographers and artists alike. Her friends have graciously given permission for me to share some of the original images that were made and the enhancements I have made. IF you have a photograph you’ve taken and would like to have me review it and enhance it, I am offering this service starting at $12.00 and includes very minor, but important adjustments, whitening teeth, brighting, color cast removal and a 4×5 print for your reference. Your file is returned to you. From there it goes up depending on what you have in mind or the potential I see. The quality of the image you submit is also evaluated. We also do restoration and many other services. We cannot work on copyrighted prints made by other photographers or studios unless you have a written release from them or we can speak with them for clearance to work on the images. We will be happy to order high quality prints from our professional lab if you would like. Check with us for details.

After: Here is one of several enhancements using digital manipulations by Ruth (aka Gigi) Geitgey.

A moody fog and canvas texturing plus a mat and frame complete the work transitioning a photograph to an art piece for the client’s home.

The addition of the word Contemplation adds a contemporary feel and title to the piece.

Gigi, Digital Artist, J. Darger, the photographer, and the mother-to-be model welcome your comments.

I’m working again with images by J. Darger. This time it’s to create the popular “Vintage Look” to the baby’s images.

The vintage model of a 1954 Chevy adds to the look! I’m guessing it belonged to a Grandpa, who loves collectors cars.

You did such an amazing job on these! I cannot see the images very well though. It would be nice if they were bigger.

  3. Gigi Geitgey (aka Ruth) Says:

When you click on the images above you are supposed to get a larger image. That link seems to not be working. The “Blogmaster” will have to see about fixing that and let you know. Thanks for the heads up on it. Gigi

I made the samples larger but now there is no larger image to “click” to view. Just one step viewing. Gigi
